This page explains the current facilities for people with disabilities, and is intended to assist you in planning your visit.
Advance booking
Planning your visit in advance is always a good idea so that our staff can readily provide assistance if required. Accompanying carers are eligible for a free ticket. We will be pleased to reserve wheelchair spaces or seats in any particular part of the auditorium if this is helpful. Please contact us in advance.
Customers with Limited Mobility
Both auditoria are accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. Please note wheelchair spaces are limited. There is a lift in the foyer to help wheelchair users with the change of level from the foyer to the corridor that accesses both auditoria. Please ask a member of staff if you would like help with the lift.
We regret that there is no lift access to the first-floor bar. If you would like to take a drink from the bar into the film with you and are unable to use the stairs, please ask a member of staff and your drink will be brought down for you.
Visually Impaired Customers
Guide dogs are welcome. If you wish to take your dog into a performance, please let us know when booking so that we can arrange an aisle seat. Our staff will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog.
Customers with Impaired Hearing
Certain performances carry subtitles, and these are clearly indicated in the programme.
Toilets
There is an adapted toilet for wheelchair users, which is accessible from the main cinema foyer. There is an emergency call point (the red hanging cord) inside should you need to summon assistance.
Customers who have a disability that means that they need a companion with them in the cinema can bring them to any Picturehouse Cinema for free.
You can sign up for a Carers Card which will automatically discount one of your tickets, and which you can use – without a booking fee – when buying tickets in person, online or by telephone. The card will also mean that you don’t have to explain your situation every time you visit the cinema.
Ticket prices for customers with disabilities are according to their circumstances (e.g. adult, Member or student); the free ticket applies to their companion. The card must be used in conjunction with a paid-for ticket or a Member’s free ticket.
Signing up for a card is not required, but we hope it will make buying tickets easier. It is personal to you, and may not be used by other people.
To apply for an annual Carers Card, visit any of our cinemas, call us on 0871 902 5747, or email customerservice@picturehouses.co.uk
Our small but perfectly formed first-floor bar is the ideal setting for the heated debate that often follows a great movie.
We offer a fantastic range of wines, locally sourced craft beers and premium spirits, all served by our enthusiastic and welcoming staff. We also run occasional wine and film nights, as well as our unmissable Phoenix Film Quiz on the last Monday of every month.
If you are looking for a venue with a twist, the bar can be hired for private functions. We regularly host birthday parties, wedding receptions and corporate events.
