# Couchbase::Jruby

Couchbase JRuby gem is a wrapper around Couchbase Java SDK, plus modifications to make it syntactically identical to Ruby gem (gem couchbase). 
This is intended to be a drop-in-replacement for Ruby couchbase gem but for JRuby. 
If you are looking for a simple wrapper that is syntactically like Java SDK check out https://github.com/jeremy-brenner/jcouchbase which is a basic wrapper.

## Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

    gem 'couchbase-jruby'

And then execute:

    $ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

    $ gem install couchbase-jruby

## Usage

If you are familiar with Ruby couchbase gem, this works no differently. You can check out https://github.com/couchbase/couchbase-ruby-client
for syntax. Ignore the installation procedures for libcouchbase, as they are not needed, also the Java SDK jars are included in this gem.

It works on Couchbase Server 1.8.x and Couchbase Server 2.x.
